Look, Don’t Touch explores the male gaze and the objectification of women in contemporary photography. The exhibition focuses on six photographers who capture women through their camera lenses. The six artists are Guy Bourdin, Peter Kaaden, Ryan McGinley, Julia Noni, Katarzyna Mazur, and lastly Emily Knecht. By having the artists split in half by gender, we are able to get a wide and varied viewpoint. This allows us to investigate the complexity of the male gaze. When juxtaposed together, many details that were not previously noticeable, are now blatantly exposed.
